Wedding Budget

I was just curious the other day about how much the average wedding budget these days is. I was a little bit surprised to find out it was $27,800. That's quite a bit more than I thought it was actually. It definitely makes sense. You need so much to make your wedding day perfect and memorable. The article said it was especially more costly when you live in large urban areas. I wanted to show you this so you can start SAVING UP Ladies, or tell your daddy's too, lol!! Find the article on The Knot.

The "Skinny" on getting Skinny

We all want those perfect bods for our wedding day! You may have a few extra pounds you'd like to shed before the big day comes. I'll tell you what has worked for me when trying to slim down.

#1) SPINNING CLASSES. Don't hate just yet. I swore my body could never handle one of those dreadful classes. My friend, Melanie drug me to my very first one. I'm not going to lie it was awful. But then the next one got easier, and then the next one was even easier for me. It helped me to drop those unwanted pounds and it was fun to go with friends who help motivate me.
#2) WEIGHTS. Add a few days a week of light weights into your weekly regimen. I know it helped me feel stronger and it helped boost my metabolism too.
#3) Eat more fruits and veggies!! My sweet mother is always reading books and so one day while I was in the car with her, I was looking through one of her health books she had lying there. It was seriously a HUGE wake up call for me. I honestly can't say I eat more than one or two fruit and veggie servings A WEEK! I know, I am so pathetic. Okay so this book has stages of starting to eat healthier and stage one just requires you to chop up a bowl of fruit and veggies once a day, an hour or so before dinner and eat the whole thing. Thats it. No cutting out anything. Eat dinner same as always. This way it will help you get used to the idea of eating your fruits and veggies while probably making you less hungry at dinner time. You should really read them. Find them on AMAZON.

Here are some Protein Shakes I found here. I find I have a lot more energy for some reason when I drink one of these in the morning and I feel full for longer.

Hope you enjoyed my tips! Holidays are coming. The hardest time of the year to stick to a healthy eating regimen. YOU CAN DO IT!

Wedding Day Checklist

We all know its important to be prepared and I am such a planner, so I researched checklists and I came upon on one I thought was just perfect on realsimple. I copied a little bit of it for you to take a look and you can print their longer, more elaborate version on the website. This will keep you on the golden road. Now I just need to find a checklist for my life;)

Updos

On my wedding day I knew what I wanted for my hair, but I hadn't done a "practice run". I was kind of naive to think that I was going to get exactly what I wanted from somebody I'd never met before. It wasn't horrible, but lets just say it looked almost nothing like the picture. I now wish I would have done a practice run and got it picture perfect before the big day. It is important to do this with your makeup artist as well, especially if you haven't worked with them before. I found these beautiful up dos on pinterest. Aren't they gorgeous? I love how the braids are now incorporated into so many styles now. So pretty! I know there are many talented hair stylists at Goulds Salon and if you are on a budget try Goulds Exchange.

First post and Sexy Bridal Garters:)

I am so excited to be writing my first post on my I DO Memphis wedding blog. Its been an idea I've had for a while and finally its up! My friend Lindsey, author of the fabulous blog A Pillow Thought, designed my blog. I love it so much and hope you do too! This blog will be a mix of a lot of things, inspiration, photos, links, contests, vendors and more. Hope you drop by often and make my day by leaving a comment to let me know if you like it or not (okay maybe don't comment if you don't like it.lol)

I came across these sexy little garters on etsy and am in love! I photograph weddings here in memphis and I've never seen any lacy sexy garters out there.  I've mostly just seen the basic white ones, so when I found these, I knew I had to share!

Find where to get these cute things in Mabelicious Bridal's Etsy shop.  And maybe they could even work as a headband after the wedding, haha..Just a thought. Maybe your thighs aren't as big as mine;) Lots more posts to come:)
